BUSINESS AND KIDS

The kids started school August 17th. McKaden is in 6th grade which is in junior high. He is on the football team and has his first game September 15th. He had to choose football or track. He has his own laptop that stays at school this year and next year he will be able to bring it home. Things are going good so far and we love the princple. McKennen is in the 4th grade. I wanted to start him in 3rd because of reading, but dad said no. So he was getting situated in class and we pulled him out to goto 4th grade the other kids did not think it was fair he got to go up a grade. He is doing good and love it there. They get bused 20 miles there is a school closer, but I had heard some things and so this school is better for them. South Dakota has an open enrolment to any school. They only go 4 days a week with Friday left to kids who need extra help. McKennen has to take Spanish and they have done away with cursive handwrighting. He also has his own IPOD. I better learn all this TECHY stuff or I am going to be lost

Temptations has its 1st event on the 12th of September. 50,000 people are expected to show up. I plane to sell bisquits gravy, Hamburgers, Nachos, chili, chili dogs, hot dogs, bratts, ice cream, and a few other items. We are already locked in for next year if we want to be. We are starting late in the year, but I have my calendar filling up for next year. Also there is a 5 year contract to build an elcetric company that we are looking into to sale food at. The Trailer we are using is a temporary one and when we are established we will be buying one that is fully equiped with oven and stove. Jeremy is done doing tile, his elbows are getting bad and needs to find a different trade so here we go. We are excited to see what God is going to do with this business.

NEVER BUY A CHAIN SAW FOR YOUR HUSBAND

Today My dear husband took the last tree down. Out of all of them this one was the scariest. Next to a propane tank and the biggest. As he cut he had our employee hold tension with the Tahoe. The tree started to sway towards the house and if Mike had not gunned the Tahoe it would of takin my house out. It did still hit the house but no damage THANK MY GOD FOR THIS BLESSING.
NO MORE TREES TO TAKE DOWN. What an amazing fearless husband I have he gets all his creativity from my lovely father in law who still does crazy stuff to this day. I belive it is their iner child being released.
The biggest blessing in all of this is that no one got hurt!!!

NO MORE TREES!!!!!!!!

We have been very busy.

Here is 4 slide shows to show you what we have been up to. The last two months we have been on the go. Moving to South Dakota has opened so many doors of opportunity for us. In any direction we can be doing something with in an hour of our house. We have been to the zoo twice, Laurel Ingalls Homestead (took the whole day), Camping, many days in Sioux Falls, and never home on weekends because there is a free event some where. Sioux Falls always has something going on. We went to the fair last weekend. The weekend before that the zoo and the free museums. With the boys in school now, I have time to catch up on somethings I need to get done. They will only go 4 days a week. The school is advanced. McKennen got his on IPOD and McKaden got his own laptop. A little shocked that they will not be teaching McKennen cursive, but they did away with that last year as technology is taking over.
They are excited and we are excited the principle has a real understanding of children. We hope and pray this year is a good year for both boys, but especialy for McKaden. Love the Birrs

HOME GIVEAWAY

Jeremy is tiling this house. What an honor to be able to donate time for such a great cause.Tickets went on sale June 1st for $100.00 all proceeds will go to St. Jude's research hospital. Any one can purchase tickets no matter how far away you live. The goal is to sale 6,000. When Jeremy was asked to donate his time they just told him for the St. Jude home. It did not click with me that it was for the Hospital. I honestly thought it was for a church in Billings, a catholic church or the name of the house. Not that it mattered and not that he did not want to donate his time but as you all know times are tough. We are just the two of us, no employees. Jer kept going on about the St. Jude home is ready, we are waiting on material for the St. Jude home, and finale the I am done with the St. Jude home. During our conversation today it hit me that this was not just a home this was a blessing for so many children out their that are sick and in need of care. I can not tell you the joy that over came me when the light bulb went off. I told Jer I believe that home is being given away for the Children's research hospital. I got off the phone with Jeremy and went to the computer where I looked up the house. I was in such disbelief how could we be selfish in asking for any kind of payment. Not knowing how to tell Jer that he should not accept any kind of payment I prayed. I must tell you we are not well off and work has been the slowest we have seen in 5 yrs. times are scary, but after I prayed I new in my heart Jeremy could not charge a dime for this house. I called him immediately and told him he said after he got off the phone he to prayed about it. We both came to the agreement that now money would be given to our business. What an honor what a blessing to be able to give when we don't have no money to give. God sure did show us that he does not only want money, but our time is just as valuable. You can purchase tickets for $100.00 http://www.ktvq.com/ click on site or go to http://www.stjudedreamhome.org/ type in 59101 as the zip. Under all the flooring there are messages and prayers writen. When Jeremy gets back next week I will post all pics so you can see. Please donate to this wonderful cause it made me think it could be one of my kids needing this Hospital. One day alone it cost $1.4 million dollars to run the hospital.

THE MOVE

WOW!! We made it. My husband the crazy man packed both vehicles. I drove the truck he drove the Jeep. Do you see the trailer attached to the Jeep yes that is a big role of suran wrap holding our belongings along with straps. By the time we got to the house we had talls fallowing us. We woke up at 4am on Friday the 1st and was finale on the freeway by 7:30am We drove to Rapid City and stayed the night we also had to fix the plastic ball going down the road so anothe big role of wrap. 6am the next morning we headed out and arrived in Sioux Falls at 5pm we got our camping trailer Jer had pulled up about a month ago. Back on the road 2 hours latter pulled up to the house the realtor was waiting. This day was the 2nd we were not scheduled to close until the 11th. The realtor gave us the keys and said we could start moving in. HURRAY. Well that is what I thought until my husband informed me we would be camping in our front yard until closing day. Well every one knows women need to shower. By Tuesday I was frustrated I had not showered and sponge bathing was not working. (we had no water and the water was shut off to the house.) So Jer decided we would go camping for one night at the camp ground in Minnesota (yes we are 10mins from Hendricks MN) We arrived at the camp ground and Jer hooks the water up to the camper while the boys and I are setting stuff up McKaden goes to the back of the camper and yells "there is water coming out of the camper" Well long story short my husband did not winterize the camper and the water heater poped and the camper floded and we still had not had a shower. Thank goodness the campground did we all showered then headed into Hendricks to see if we could get a water heater. Nope little towns don't keep those in stock so on to the next city Marshall MN. Nope they did not have one and the suggested Sioux falls that was 2hrs away. So back to the camp ground we got our trailer and headed back to the house. called the realtor to see if we could get the water on in our name. She said yes. YES WATER. NO!!!! leaks 6 different ones we had a flood in the living room coming from the upstairs bath. Pulled a portion of the ceiling off Did I mention my husband bought this house off of pictures and it was not paid for yet we still had 6 days to closing. Well we got all the pipes fixed that were leaking. Well anyways Friday came and the realtor called said we needed a check for $6464.99 we had already given a check for $1,000.00 Plus the propane tank was full that is $560.00 so we realy paid $6904.99 for this house and that was paying closing coast too. It does not need much fixing just painting and flooring. It is a 1911 house and it is fun. The city has a Mayor and population of 150 the next 2 towns are 10 mins away. It has a cafe for sale $40,000 or best offer. made $94,000 last year that would be sweet. The boys bonderies are the city of Astoria. and well their is alot of funny things that have happened I wonder if it would make a great book. The pictures of the house are how it really looks so when we finish updating it I will post more pictures.
